Many diversified uses of geothermal fluids other than for power generated and bathing are being attempted in Japan. Table 1 lists many of the uses that have been tried in Japan. It should be pointed out that these uses of geothermal energy were small-scale, secondary, or non-profit making. However, it is probable that some of these uses could become important as a commercial enterprise.
