This report discusses the results obtained from the electron beam irradiation of sample mixtures of gases approximating geothermal fluids in composition. The purpose of these experiments was to assess the feasibility of removing hydrogen sulfide from geothermal steam and off gases by means of electron beam treatment. The electron beam irradiation of steam and other gases containing parts per million by volume (ppm) levels of H2S was expected to produce ions, radicals and free atoms in the gaseous phase which would in turn react with the H2S
