A brief generalized overview of the geology of the Cascade Range is presented with emphasis on Oregon and southern Washington regions. Included are summaries of physiography, geologic and tectonic history, and recent volcanism. The abundance of young volcanic rocks and the isolated occurrences of hot water along the Range suggest that a large geothermal resources may exist
