In the course of terrestrial heat surveys, the scientific research group of Kweichow Engineering Institute discovered for the first time during late November of 1980, an underground warm-water stream situated within the boundaries of Nan-Qia Production Brigade, shi-gu Commune, Hua-Qia District, 27 kilometers from the county town of Shi-Qia. The underground warm-water stream lies on the left bank of the valley of the Kai-Xia River. The temperature of the water at the outlet of the stream is 32C to 24C degrees.
