The paper presents results of the exploration and evaluation of the geothermal water resources and energy contained therein in particular basins of the Poland's part of the Middle European Province and Carpathians. Drilling operations and design works leading to the construction of the direct-use geothermal plants within the area of the Szcrzecin - Lodi, Grudziadz - Warsaw and Podhale subbasins are described.
