The Diploma in Energy Technology (Geothermal) is offered as a full-time postgraduate course, from February to November. For students from developing countries, UNDP Fellowships are available to cover travel, accommodation, living costs, and various other expenses connected with the course. Course structure with engineers and earth scientists exposed to geothermal technology side by side is considered to be workable and highly desirable. The success of the course is best judged by the participants and their employers. A mission conducted by the director in 1980 and visits during 1981 to some of the ex-students have confirmed that the course is fulfilling a need within the geothermal world. Student and supervisor reaction indicates that the individuals are much better prepared to take major responsibilities in the development of their own geothermal resources
