In early April, 20 U.S. geothermal experts along with their wives, two children, and a travel leader arrived in Tianjin (Tientsin), People's Republic of China. They were in China at the invitation of the State Scientific and Technological Commission and the City of Tianjin to put on a geothermal conference for Chinese geothermal experts. The conference was sponsored in the U.S. by China Consulting Group, Inc., of Dalla, Texas, and the Geo-Heat Center, and coordinated by John Lund and Jim Combs
