In the 12th five-year plan by 1990, as against 1985, there is a target to ensure for the national economy the savings of organic fuel at the rate of 200 to 230 million tonnes (1 tonne metric approx. equals 1 ton U.S.) of conventional fuel, including 75 to 90 million tonnes through development of nuclear power engineering and employment of renewable energy sources.
