The purpose of this research project is project development, design methodology, and wetland design for a floating treatment wetland (FTW) study to be implemented in the future. The FTW study is an investigation on floating treatment wetland efficacy in treating agricultural runoffin the Klamath Basin. It is a multi-year on-going project that spans much larger than the scope of this report. Project development included literature review, identification of stakeholders, project proposal revision iterations, site selection, exploration of permitting requirements, and exploration of potential sources of funding. Designing the methodology included the creation of a master spreadsheet containing formulas and calculations from Kadlec & Wallace (2009) to build the framework necessary for calculating nutrient removal of the proposed floating treatment wetland. Wetland design was determined with dimensions using publicly available Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data and aerial photos, and a complete set of preliminary construction plans were drafted.
