The Universal jig idea stemmed from an Engineering challenge at my workplace. We have been using a jig two steam shoe uppers. The jig was such that it was only designed for one model and therefore was single use item. It costs a lot of money and isn’t recyclable. The new jig is designed so that any model can use it. It is therefore a versatile jig. We made several iterations during the course. The jig is currently utilized in development. Much of the design has been done on Adobe Illustrator. And later the Jig was cut using CNC Vcarve Pro. We also made sure the integrity of the board to withstand the steaming heat. We ran FEA analysis on the board and found that it is fit for the job.
