Our team project was to work with the students who attend the Klamath County and City Transition’s schools by providing oral health education, screenings, x-rays, comprehensive dental exams, dental cleanings and fluoride varnish treatments. The students in our population present with dexterity issues, cognitive disabilities, gingivitis, and high caries risk. The goal of this project was to improve the oral health in this population through our education day and prophy days. Due to COVID-19 restrictions our group was only able to implement one free dental cleaning day for this population, out of the three scheduled.
