This thesis presents methods for real-time estimation of grid strength by calculating two Short Circuit Ratio’s (SCRs), one for reactive power control (SCRQV ) and one for active power control (SCRPf ), using raw data from utility scale Wind Power Plants. The methods utilize voltage and reactive power measurements for SCRQV , and active power and frequency measurements for SCRPf. Additionally, the variations of SCRQV and SCRPf are translated to adjustments of voltage regulation reactive power step change magnitudes and rise-times, and primary frequency response active power adjustment magnitudes and active power ramp-rates, respectively.
