Colombia was selected for the development of an energy based-model that describes the social, environmental, economic, and trading determinants of the energy demand.The residential energy sector in this case study is used to formalize an energy-based model to describe the variables that impact the residential energy demand of Colombia.The methodology and the energy-based model proposed in this investigation enables Colombia to improve current energy and decision-making practices, as well as, promote the implementation of forecasting systems to study the energy demand.
