An issue confronting many communities is their
remote location with respect to modern power grids. These
communities have a reasonable and viable life but are unable
to connect to reliable electrical power and this reduces access
to many conveniences that help with good health. Many of
these communities may not be in a position to even have the
sprawl of cities reach them even within the long term of the
next 50 years. By installing an off-grid system for these
communities we can provide not only electrical service ahead
of a centralized system but also be a complement to the
construction of the larger system much as the US national grid
was implemented first as local small scale grids. Electricity is
just the start to this project as there are many needs that can be
fulfilled using non-electrical alternative energy like solar
thermal or biogas production. A benefit of the utilization of
renewable resources is that it sets a precedent for using
available natural sources as opposed to reliance on a
diminishing fuel source.
