The medication Reminder and Provider Alert System is a Smartphone application that targets early intervention for patients diagnosed with congestive heart failure and has missed three consecutive doses of their prescribed medication. Every year over 125,000 deaths and at least $100 billion in direct and indirect costs can be attributed to medication non adherence. Patients not adhereing to their prescribed medication regimen are higher risk for emergency room utilization or death. The medication reminder application assists patients in taking their medications by sending notifications to their smartphone with the correct medication and dose displayed in the alert. Three consecutive missed doses results in the provider receiving an alert so that early intervention may help reduce the risk to the patient.
