The BAN Assist is a product that uses a microcontroller to control a small body network of capacitive touch sensors and small coin motor vibrators as a haptic-feedback system to re-learn fine motor skills for persons recovering from traumatic brain injury. The product is unique in the market that there is no such device that incorporates strength training and pain relief due to stimulation while the patient is undergoing physical therapy to re-learn gross and fine motor skills. The firmware for the BAN Assist was be written in full by the designer, and the market can bear the cost of the BAN Assist because the microcontroller used is low-cost and industry standard. The BAN Assist is designed for testing and a test plan is laid out. The BAN Assist will be low cost and able to be completed in the time frame given.
