This project was carried out to help Sutter Coast Community Clinic increase the patient throughput from eight a day to 18 – 22 a day, increasing revenue and patient satisfaction. The methodology used is that of Lean Six Sigma, the standard for improving processes in the Operations Management field of study. A Kaizen event was held at the clinic with various team members and causes for the low number of patients seen was discussed. Causes were put forward and the most likely (based on multi-voting) were evaluated for possible solutions. Solutions were suggested, tested, and implemented. A control plan was put into place to institutionalize the changes to management practices.
