This project introduces the design, development, and testing of an affordable 24 GHz continuous-wave radar sensor tailored for educational applications in microwave and radar engineering labs. The sensor, designed to be compatible with standard PC sound cards, enables students to capture and analyze real-world radar signals using software tools like MATLAB. The system's core is a two-stage, low-noise amplifier providing over 70 dB of gain, ensuring compatibility with both lab equipment and personal computers. Key features include support for both 5 V and 3.3 V operation, a user-friendly 1/8" headphone jack output, and potential for future expansion into Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave (FMCW) radar capabilities. While highlighting the system's functionality and educational value, the paper also addresses economic considerations, ethical and professional responsibilities, and adherence to relevant engineering standards. Test results validate the system's performance, demonstrating its efficacy as a cost-effective tool for hands-on learning in radar technology.
