Modern students and educators increasingly rely on advanced language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT to facilitate learning, research, and productivity. However, current voice assistants, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, fail to effectively leverage the power of advanced LLMs due to limitations like poor contextual understanding, privacy risks from cloud-based audio processing, and noticeable latency that interrupts smooth interactions. Additionally, existing devices often compromise acoustic quality, impacting clarity and user experience.To address these critical gaps, we created VESTA (Virtual Enhanced Speech and Text Assistant), a student-focused, privacy-conscious assistant specifically designed to enable seamless interaction with cutting-edge LLMs. VESTA uniquely combines the convenience of voice commands with the extensive capabilities of ChatGPT, empowering users to ask complex, open-ended questions naturally and receive detailed, instantaneous, and contextually accurate responses.
