The Smart Stepper Server extends the original Smart Stepper shoe insert—designed to monitor children’s gait and provide feedback for toe walking—by implementing a centralized, secure backend for data management, authentication, and user access. Raw sensor data is transmitted via BLE from the shoe insert to a paired Bangle.js 2 smartwatch, relayed to the user’s smartphone, and then forwarded—with timestamps and optional location metadata—to remote servers. A SQL-based server stores and processes this data, while an HTML web portal and mobile application (Android) enable patients and medical professionals to view real‑time metrics, customizable goal‑tracking graphs, and raw data (admin only). Security is enforced through Transparent Database Encryption and a password management system. Admin functions include user account administration, password resets, and data CRUD operations.
