NotACritic is a website where everyday viewers not critics share movie and TV reviews. With so many streaming services, finding something to watch can be a headache, so we show exactly where you can stream each title. We built it using React, Next.js, and TypeScript on the front end, with Java and Spring Boot on the back end, and store everything in a MySQL/InnoDB database. We pull up-to-date info from OMDb and TMDb so data is always current. Users can rate shows on a five-star scale, filter between audience and critic scores, and follow each other to see what friends are watching and saying. Early feedback shows people love how easy it is to use and how personalized the recommendations feel.
