A deep dive into what the current way people are educated so they can join the information technology occupation and suggesting a better way to help people enter the information technology industry in hopes of preventing a crisis. With nine out of ten jobs using some form of digital technology by 2030 it is becoming more imperative that more people join the information technology industry. Currently there are 300,000 job openings for an industry that only has 4.18 million jobs. Having an 8% job vacancy rate is not good for any industry. Not enough people are joining the industry even with 91% of people in the industry having at least one certification and 29,000 people graduating every year with an information technology related degree, it is still not enough. The reason the is such a big problem is because 70% of those job openings require a four-year degree but with only 29,000 people graduating each year it is becoming impossible to fill positions. So, a new avenue must be created so people can have a better option into entering the industry and that option is an information technology trade school.
