The Klamath Project produces such an abundance of potatoes that at times the market could become glutted if they were allowed to enter normal marketing channels. Therefore, it becomes necessary to find other uses for this abundance. This starch drier is part of a starch glucose converter plant being constructed at Hatfield, California near the Oregon State Line. This machinery was shipped from Laurel, Miss., where it was used for the conversion of starch from sweet potatoes.
